Shot from the Lip is a network of London-based spoken word and live literature promoters. We independently promote spoken word events throughout the year and also organise collective events. We aim to raise the profile of spoken word and attract new audiences to spoken word across the capital. Our long-term goal is to propel spoken word into the mainstream of London arts and culture.

The Shot from the Lip website is hosted and maintained by Metaroar.com, the online hub of the spoken word community. Metaroar started with the FYI email which went out to a small group of people that were interested in spoken word gigs. It has since matured into an information service that reaches thousands of subscribers.
